2017 IAPS CONVENTION CLASSES
IAPS has a wealth of classes for you to choose from - workshops, demonstrations, professional development and critiques. Be sure to check the SCHEDULE so that you don't sign up for two classes at the same time. Each class is designated with the following initials that tell you what type of class it will be:

DM - DEMONSTRATION

The instructor will work on a painting, and discuss technique, inspiration, supplies etc. Demonstrations are either two or three hours. In larger rooms, the painting will be projected to a screen, so everyone can see details as the instructor paints.

WS - WORKSHOP

There are some two-day workshops at the beginning of the convention for those who like to arrive early. You will need to bring all your supplies, including your choice of standing or tabletop easel. Under each class description is a link to the instructor's recommended materials list that you can print out. Maximum of 20 students in most workshops.

PD - Personal Development

These are business-related classes and will not involve painting or demonstrations.

TO SIGN UP for any class you must be registered as an Artist or an IAPS Instructor. (Non-Artist Spouse/companions may not sign up for optional classes). You can register and sign up for classes at the same time, and you can go back later and add extra classes. If you wish to change or cancel a class see Changes & Cancellations.

WAITLISTS Waitlists are available for workshops only (not for demonstrations or personal development seminars). On your registration form, the second tab lists all classes. Any workshop that is filled will have a FULL sign over the check box and there is also a WAITLIST button. If you wish to be waitlisted on that workshop, click the button which takes you to a white page, then click on SUBMIT TO WAITLIST. Your name will then be added to the waitlist. Spaces only open up if somebody cancels, and they are offered to those on the waitlist in the order received. If you are next on the waitlist you will receive an email from Red Weber, and you can then decide if you still want that workshop. If it involves cancelling or changing previously booked classes, there will be a change fee involved. Red will handle it, give you a price breakdown and make the changes for you.
