We are pleased to introduce you to the exciting 2015 IAPS Eleventh Biennial Convention
program, full of demonstrations, workshops, pastel materials, exhibitions and gatherings! Our team has been working since the end of the last convention to bring you the very best pastel has to offer. We have scheduled lively demonstrations and must-do workshops from the best instructors who are coming from around the world to teach at IAPS. Your favorite pastel and art material vendors will be here with venerable products as well as new temptations. And the pastel paintings displayed at the PastelWorld Exhibitions are not only the best in the medium but will provide inspiration and encouragement.
Many of you will be new to the IAPS Convention and we extend to you a huge welcome to our pastel party. For those who have attended previous conventions, you will see that there are some changes in the daily activities and overall schedule, including new items, and a streamlined program based on your feedback. As a result we expect many people may decide to arrive on Wednesday or earlier. So even if you are a seasoned conventioneer, please take a minute to read what is new and different for 2015.

Our Convention Location
Once again, our headquarters is the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town
, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This has been our best and most popular location and the hotel makes us very welcome. For 2015, they have kept the same room rate as we paid in 2011, which allows us to pass the saving onto you by keeping our cost increases very minimal. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to old Town making it possible to enjoy many local attractions without needing a car. All sleeping rooms at the Hotel Albuquerque are blocked for IAPS for the main convention dates and room reservations need to be booked through the hotel directly, either by phone or online as explained on the hotel information page
. Tell them you are with the IAPS Convention to receive the special rate.
Since our convention has grown we expect the hotel to fill quickly. An additional block of IAPS rooms is also held at the Best Western Rio Grande Inn
, just two blocks away with free shuttle service.
