HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2011 CONVENTION BANQUET
June 2-5, 2011 • Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Saturday Night Banquet is always a favorite event at the IAPS Conventions.
Here's a recap of some of the highlights including the presentation of awards
to Golden Mentor recipients, new Master Circle members, and the
Keynote speech by Kate Hersey of Unison Pastels. To see a video excerpt from the

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: KATE HERSEY, UNISON PASTELS

Kate Hersey traveled from her home and the home of Unison Pastels in Northumberland, near the border between England and Scotland, to speak at the IAPS convention.
She shared the history of the pastels created by her late husband John Hersey, and how
his vision led to a family business focusing on creating beautiful handmade pastels
for artists everywhere.

 

Golden Mentor Awards

The Golden Mentor Awards are presented to individuals who have supported IAPS
and as a result assisted with the promotion of pastel and pastel artists.
The 2011 awards were presented by IAPS president Maggie Price to:
Mary Ann Broddrick, IAPS Master Circle Chair;
Liz Haywood-Sullivan, IAPS Vice President;
Jamie Markle, F&W Media, Publisher of The Pastel Journal;
and Urania Christy Tarbet, IAPS Founder and President Emeritus.

IAPS Master Circle Recipients

Artists who qualified for membership in the IAPS Master Circle since 2009 received
their Gold Medallions at the Convention. The medallions were presented by
Mary Ann Broddrick IAPS Master Circle Chair.
