This is the highest recognition given by IAPS. This award is reserved for individuals who have given selflessly of their time and talents to advance the mission of IAPS to “unite pastel societies around the world in support of the fine art of pastel.” This award will be given only when warranted and not at every convention. Initiated 2015, the Inaugural Distinguished Service to Pastel Award was presented by IAPS Founder and President Emertius Urania Christy Tarbet to Pat Suggs and in 2017 to Alan Flattmann. Since that time, the Award has been given to Duane Wakeham and Jimmy Wright in 2019.
